Our area has so many attractions, but its potential remains unfulfilled. It’s time to backour borough as a great destination and put Chorley back on the map.
It wasn’t long ago when coach loads would enjoy our markets. It’s time to make that happen again, alongside our other fantastic attractions like Astley Hall, Rivington, the story of Myles Standish and our links with the USA, there are so many reasons for Chorley to be a destination to enjoy.
We want you and your family to benefit from a sensible tourism and leisure plan, with activities and facilities for local people no matter what your age or interests.
To do this we will:
- Improve our leisure facilities, especially in rural areas; giving everyone the chance to stay active and have fun.
- Back our tourist destinations with a dedicated Tourism Officer, to support and promote our attractions.
- Establish plans to create a Sports Village with Football League standard facilities, including a stadium fit for our local team and other amenities that our growing town deserves.
- Give our grassroots clubs the funds they need with special grants so they can thrive.
