No to council reorganisation without public consultation

Could this be a new super council ?
  • The Labour government are imposing devolution by scrapping district Council's like Chorley through reorganising towards new unitary super council's with a preferred population of 500,000 or more.

  • This could mean Chorley becoming a smaller player in a new super council comprising of Chorley, Preston, South Ribble and West Lancashire

  • What do you think about the Labour government's top-down plan for devolution?

Lancashire County Council, the two unitary authorities of Blackburn and Blackpool along with the district councils, already have a devolution plan in place working together on strategic matters for the whole of Lancashire. Now the Labour government are imposing new super councils.

Do you agree with Labour's plan to scrap Chorley Council and create a number of super councils across the County?
