South Ribble Conservative Association
Our Spring Dinner will be held at Leyland Golf Club which is on Wigan Road, PR25 5UD, just a couple of minutes’ drive from Junction 28 of the M6. We will be meeting at 7PM for a 7.30PM start.
Tickets are priced at £45 per person for a three course meal with tea and coffee. For those who would like to meet David Starkey in advance of the main meal, we will be hosting a small welcome drinks reception from 6PM for an additional £15 per person supplement: this will have a strictly limited capacity, and tickets will be sold on a first come, first served basis.
It's a huge thrill to announce we'll be welcoming renowned historian Dr David Starkey to speak to us at our Spring Dinner on Friday 14th March. As well as welcoming Dr Starkey, we'll be celebrating the 50th anniversary of Margaret Thatcher becoming our Party leader back in 1975.
David Starkey is a historian, author, and broadcaster, known for his expertise in Tudor history, particularly the reign of Henry VIII. He gained prominence with his television series, books, and documentaries, becoming a leading figure in popular history. Starkey is celebrated for his bold and often controversial views on history, politics, and society, often sparking debate. In recent years, Dr Starkey has become one of the leading voices of the Centre-Right, and is actively involved with the Popular Conservatism pressure group. An evening with Dr Starkey will be an experience not to be missed!
