Perks fights plan to open hospital home access

Councillor Mark Perks, who represents Chorley's Astley and Buckshaw Ward, and Lancashire's North Division, is joining residents in objecting to plans to open up access into Astley Village's Edgefield and connecting roads.Plans have been submitted to give road access to Dutch Barn Close which is situated within Chorley Hospital grounds.

Chorley's Labour Council reveals cost of flower show

Chorley Council has revealed the cost of staging the two-day flower show in Astley Park held in August last year.    Figures published by Chorley Council on their website reveal they spent £123,494 staging the flower show, while a separate freedom of information enquiry shows income totalling just £32,896.
