BBC News under scrutiny

Shadow DCMS Secretary of State, Nigel Huddleston MP earlier wrote on X (Twitter):

Following yesterday's revelations about the BBC doctoring a speech by Donald Trump, it is alarming to hear of yet more allegations of BBC bias - this time regarding Israel and Hamas.

An internal memo alleges the BBCs Arabic Service boosted Hamas claims and had 'a desire always to believe the worst about Israel'.

This is irresponsible and strays far away from the BBCs charter duty to be  impartial. Licence fee payers deserve better. The BBC must thoroughly investigate these allegations, be transparent about its faults, and develop a clear plan for improvement.
