Delivered Brexit.

We delivered on the historic mandate of the British people to leave the European Union, ending decades of control by Brussels bureaucrats and restoring sovereignty to Parliament.

Reformed education to give the next generation the best start in life.

Through our academy and education reforms, by 2023 the number of schools rated good or outstanding in England had risen from 68 per cent under Labour to 90 per cent, with children rated the best readers in the western world.

Delivered 2.5 million more homes, including one million homes in the last Parliament.

In office, we delivered over 2.5 million additional homes and met our target to deliver one million homes over the last Parliament, while protecting the green belt by prioritising the building of new homes on brownfield land.

Got 4 million more people into work whilst reforming and strengthening our welfare system to deliver fairness.

When we left office, there were over 4 million more people in work, the unemployment rate was near record lows and the employment rate 4.3 percentage points higher compared to 2010. We reformed welfare by introducing Universal Credit so people were moved off benefits and into work and we capped benefits by introducing the two child-limit.

Created the new NATO benchmark of 2.5 per cent and set Britain on the pathway of spending 2.5 per cent of GDP on defence by 2030.

We planned to maintain our leading position in NATO with defence spending reaching 2.5 per cent of GDP by 2030, primarily focused on three areas: firing up the UK defence industrial base, modernising our Armed Forces, and backing Ukraine’s defence. This would have made us the second largest NATO contributor, after the United States.

Launched the first Long-Term Workforce Plan in the NHS’s history, fostering homegrown talent across our health service.

The NHS Long-Term Workforce Plan was the first in the NHS’s history ensuring we foster homegrown talent, especially in areas where it is needed most.

Put over 20,000 extra police officers on our streets and more than halved crime since 2010.

We exceeded our target by recruiting over 20,000 more police officers, with more officers than in 2010 to keep our communities safe. This has helped us cut neighbourhood crime by 54 per cent during our time in office.

Created the conditions for 1.1 million more businesses to open since 2010 and introduced the biggest ever tax cut for business.

In 2010, there were 4.5 million businesses and there were 5.6 million when we left office – an increase of a quarter. The super-deduction was the biggest single business tax cut in modern British history.

Secured trade deals with 73 countries plus one with the EU, creating new opportunities for British businesses to help grow the economy.

Joining the CPTPP delivered two new trade deals with Malaysia and Brunei, meaning the UK has trade deals with 73 countries, plus the EU, that accounted for £1.1 trillion of UK bilateral trade in 2022.
