From a Freedom of Information Request, last years Chorley Flower Show - which was first introduced by the Labour Council in 2015 - lost a staggering £103,466 - their highest loss yet.
Income was reported as £121,353 and expenditure £224.819, suggesting that income from ticket sales and sponsorship would have to increase by up to 85% to break even and/or costs cut by up to 46%.
The Show has never broken even, with the cumulative losses now exceeding £0.45 million.
Without action, another Show this year could breach £0.5 million in cumulative losses.
