Aidy Riggott becoming a dementia friend

In his new In Touch newsletter to residents, County Councillor Aidy Riggott wrote that he recently completed a training course to become a Dementia Friend and pledged to help raise awareness of the five key messages:

  • Dementia is not a natural part of ageing
  • Dementia is caused by diseases of the brain
  • Dementia is not just about losing your memory - it can affect thinking, communicating and doing everyday tasks
  • It is possible to live well with dementia
  • There is more to a person than dementia
