Lancashire County Council's position regarding school absence and fines

Lancashire County Council has issued this statement to correct both in misleading articles and social media messages.

Lancashire County Council would like to clarify the situation regarding fines issued because of absence from school, following incorrect recent media coverage.

Cross party meeting on our health services

Chorley’s County Councillors and local MP Lindsay Hoyle held a cross-party meeting with health officials to discuss reforms to the provision of local health care being developed under the Our Health Our Care programme.  

HGV frustrations for villagers

Buckshaw Village have again experienced HGV vehicles getting themselves stuck while trying to take shortcuts through the village. This is inspire of signs having been recently erected, making it quite clear that there is no HGV access. County Councillor Aidy Riggott commented:
